For all the times I’ve drawn things that have wound up hurting people, I think this is the first time that I’ve actually found myself suffering from some semblance of regret with regards to a comic. Even when my step-mother and my dad told me I was going to hell for what I drew, I didn’t feel what I’m feeling as I type this.I value my friends, all of them. I find myself associated with people I hang out with but don’t necessarily consider friends. I have trust issues. I’ve been burnt by so many people saying they were my friend that I have difficulty making friends. For me this is a simple fact of life. Why am I posting this? Mostly because the butt of this comic in my mind is Gary’s wife, and without a doubt, I consider her my best friend, even on the bad days. This comic probably wouldn’t bother me so much if it weren’t for the fact that through dumb luck I realized a couple hours ago, that this would be posting on her birthday.
I’ve been meaning to upload some images of the mural that I’ve been working on with Seriphina Morgan. It occurred to me last night that I should have started this in a very specific way early on, live and learn.
So here’s the basic progression.

This is how it began, 2 wall painted a horrible shade of green. They’re about 8-9 feet tall and roughly 30 feet long. Whole lotta wall to fix.

First things first, lay down the primer.

Then add a better blue.

Don’t forget the other wall.

“While I finish the sky, you finish the other wall.”

That’s better.

We decided that this would be a good place for an Orca.

We finished in the next week.

Started work on a squid.

Began the art on the West wall.

It was coming along nicely by the end of the weekend. Zombie seals… and ghost salmon.

The following weekend there were actual seals on the wall.

Hungry seals and salmon.

More seal snacks.

So we worked on the other wall.

As of last night this is how done the East wall was.
All told it’s coming nicely, even with the setbacks and problems.
