About Eric
B. July 3, 1978
I was born in 1978 in the town of Ludington MI. Over the years I’ve called many places home. Michigan, Oregon, Ohio, Washington, and more.
I started drawing in the early 80’s. The first drawing I know of doing was of Frosty the Snowman. I kept drawing for years, in the late 80’s or early 90’s I attempted my first comic. An updated and revamped version of Gibson’s The Shadow. In 1993 I created what was to become my first long time comic character, an extra terrestrial jack-of-all-trades named Ghoti (pronounced fish). Ghoti was a partial amalgamation of Scud fromĀ Scud: The Disposable Assassin and Joe Psycho of The Adventures of Joe Psycho and Moo Frog. I took this character and doodled my way through high school. I ended up making several unpublished one shot and one page comics using Ghoti, but then, just before the turn of the millenium, I quit drawing comics. Shortly after that I quit drawing altogether.
In late 2003 I met fellow sometimes cartoonist Johann-Octavius Gans and several other cartoonists in Bellingham, WA. These cartoonists, and webcomics like MacHall, SinFest, Bunny, and MegaTokyo, are what made me get back into drawing. Then in 2004, I became one of the original members of the Bellingham School of Comics. With fellow cartoonists Jonathan Sodt, Sarah Kellington, Julie McGalliard, and Robyn California I helped to found the short-lived Bellingham Comics Bugle.
Beginning in late 2004 I proceeded to write and publish my own personal web-comic, Three Fourty-Seven, under the business name of Studio 347. Over the years I decided to turn Studio 347 into a legal entity and change the name to 347 Adventures so as to better match the present artistic style.
Which brings us to now.
