Repression Realization Revolution

I was typing an e-mail to a relative of mine in Norway and I began typing the following:

“Our president’s 2nd term is coming to an end, I’m hoping that our next one is better than our current one. It’s sort of interesting watching this election’s race. For one thing, this is the first election in 52 years where we don’t have our president re-running for election or a vice president running. Our republic is bogged down with bureaucracy and right now there is so much that needs fixing in it. Sadly though the majority of citizens have either become so apathetic that the ideals of our country’s foundation mean nothing, or there is simply no one worth rallying behind in a common cause. Until our apathy is eliminated or someone can rally the people to revolution I fear that we will be stuck in this spiral with little or no hope of escape.”

I don’t quite know where all this came from. It just appeared. I’ve been feeling it for a long time though. America needs fresh blood.

i honestly think that barack obama for the democrats and ron paul for the republicans are the fresh blood that people are going to rally behind. i have seen so many people get so passionate about them, even this early in the election…

I’ve been thinking the same thing.

Give it another two terms in office, and new blood will be totally unavoidable, too. Boomer’s won’t be running for office anymore at that point.

I heartily agree that those two are fresh blood, though from some of the things I’ve heard I find myself quite opposed to some of Ron Paul’s political leanings. The thought process I’ve been having more and more lately though is that we nee to reform the government. I can’t say as we’ve ever been a democracy so much as a republic, hell, much of the time I feel we’re more of an oligarchy more than anything else. At this point I fear that even when the boomers are no longer running that the problems of the last 70 years will still be there partially because of what’s become a 2 party system and partially because of how the bureaucracy has evolved since the Civil War.
